In Member Introductions
My Name is Bill (a.k.a. The Pilgrim or Big Pil). I decided to create The PT Forum after several years of trying to join another popular PT forum that has not accepted new members for as long as I have tried to join. Many of you PT owners and enthusiasts surely know of the Links... It has a lot of members and a massive wealth of information about PT Cruisers, not to mention an amazing camaraderie between many of its members. It truly is a shame that I was not able to join that forum several years ago. It would have been great to be part of that community. I know there are a few other forums out there that have a PT Cruiser thread, but they are just missing the zeal that the PT community has. Then there are the ones(one in particular) that just wants you to click the ads. Thats not what we need as an enthusiast community. We need a place where we can share our passion and knowledge of PTs without all the crap that comes with a corporate forum or social media platform. That is where The PT Forum comes in. I want to reinvigorate the PT Cruiser community and keep the passion that we all have for these awesome little cars alive. No ads, no spam, no invasion of privacy, etc… Thus, here we are. Now a little bit about me and my PT (Lovingly named, "The Blue Potato"): I am and have long been a big fan of this quirky yet pretty damn awesome little car. (Unfortunately for me, it was many, many years before I got to experience the joy that a PT Cruiser can truly bring.) Roughly 4 years ago, I inherited a 2009 PT dressed in Surf Blue Pearl and only 63,000 miles on the clock. Though, I must admit, I was not as impressed as I had hoped to be. Granted, she is not a 1st gen, she is N/A and just a base model, but I really was expecting to be a tad bit more... excited. All in all, my biggest gripe was the pathetic plastic wheel covers that made ridiculous noises over every little road imperfection. (I really hate little noises like that.) Then I found the PTCruiserLinks forum... (at lease I was and am still able to browse some great threads and get a lot of good info). That led me to find some bigger wheels and wider shoes for my girl. I ditched those horrifying plastic wheel covers and 15 inch steel wheels and chose some rather nice 17x8 wheels sitting on 235/45 BFG's. At that point, I totally fell in love with my Cruiser. It completely changed the look of my PT and the way it drove. It was like I got a brand new car! The rest is pretty much history. I am such a PT junkie now, it led me to start this forum in hopes that I can help reinvigorate and participate more in the PT community that I love so much. Thats it in a nutshell. Hope to meet and hear from other junkies like myself and see where it goes. Cruise on!
